Questions & Answers

What does Mẹcha mean?
It means "Mom and Pop" in Vietnamese. We are paying homage to our upbringing and to all of the hidden gems across the country. (It should be noted that you only use the two words together [Mẹ Cha] when you are cursing at someone).

What is the food like?
From Vietnamese Pho to Japanese Ramen -- we serve some of Asia's most comforting dishes. Among other things, we do riffs on food that can be found in the streets of Southeast Asia. Don't call us "fusion" or a sushi restaurant, there are plenty of those in Connecticut. We are American-Vietnamese-Japanese-Thai-Chinese-Korean-New England-Momofuku-Totto-and-Ippudo-inspired.

Do you take reservations?
We take reservation parties of 6 or more and because of limited space, we kindly ask that your complete party be present before sitting. We will hold your reservation up to 15 minutes before giving it away.

Can I call and get my name on the wait list before I get there?
Out of fairness to others, we do not take names over the phone. If there is a wait, we will try our best to estimate the wait time at the moment.

Is Mẹcha vegetarian, vegan, or special diet friendly?
Yes, please let us know about any allergies or special dietary needs you may have. While our ramen noodles have wheat in them, our rice noodles do not. We always try our best to accommodate.

Do you offer free-range meats and organic produce?
We work hard to buy local and natural products when possible and practical. Some of our suppliers are:
Sun Noodles
Saugatuck Craft Butchery
Ramen Lab
. . . & more to come.

Does Mẹcha deliver?
No, we do not.

Does Mẹcha provide take out?
Yes we do, however, for quality purposes we do not recommend it. When a dish is finished, it should be consumed within 5-7 minutes. We also ask you to be prepared to wait during busy hours.

Can I bring outside food or drink?
No, we do not allow outside food or drink. However, we do allow guests to bring their own wine for a corkage fee of $15/750ml bottle.
